Visit the Studio
Preaface Ceramics welcomes visitors to the studio Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00–18:00, with appointments available at other times by arrangement.
The studio is located at Gossamer Gardens, just opposite Containerville off Hackney Road, which is a thoughtfully curated courtyard of independent businesses, anchored by a peaceful garden space. Immediately outside the studio, you’ll find NEPA, a much-loved Nepalese café serving vibrant, seasonal food on our own ceramic plates.
You’re warmly invited to visit: to pause for a matcha or a bite to eat, to talk through ideas for a bespoke commission, or simply to choose from the finished pieces available in the studio ready to take home and live with.
Whether you arrive with a clear vision or an open mind, the space is designed to feel calm, welcoming, and unrushed, a place where conversations unfold naturally and objects are chosen with intention.
Finding the Studio
Preaface Ceramics is located in Unit 2, ground floor, within the Gossamer City Project at Gossamer Gardens, London E2 9FN. The entrance to the site is just off The Oval, which leads directly from Hackney Road.
The studio is open to visitors Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00–18:00, with appointments available outside these hours by arrangement. If you have any questions, or would like to discuss a project or commission, you are very welcome to get in touch via email or WhatsApp.
Gossamer Gardens is easily reached by public transport. Cambridge Heath Overground is the closest rail station, with Bethnal Green Underground also within walking distance. Bus routes 26 and 55 stop close to the entrance to The Oval from Hackney Road.
For those arriving by car, pay-by-phone parking is available on surrounding streets. There are also bike racks on site.
The gardens feature wide, level pathways suitable for wheelchair access. An accessible toilet is located on the ground floor, and a ramp into the studio can be placed whenever required.
